Sharon Horowitz, PhD

Sharon Horowitz, Ph.D., is the founder and President of CenterNORTH Inc., an international strategy and leadership consultancy which advises C-suite executives and their top teams on a wide range of issues, including strategic planning, retention, succession and staffing models.
Combining her expertise in workplace psychology with her extensive business background, Dr. Horowitz provides a unique multidisciplinary lens through which to understand the human side of strategic leadership. She serves as a sounding board and advisor to CEO’S and senior business leaders in the financial services, technology and media industries as well as in privately held companies. Dr. Horowitz' approach enables business leaders to gain greater insight into — and mastery over — the political and interpersonal landscape at work. Specifically, with family-owned businesses, Dr. Horowitz provides a systemic framework to facilitate those tricky, but necessary, conversations about a range of issues including governance, leadership, and continuity planning.
Dr. Horowitz is a clinical instructor in group psychology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and an associate faculty member at the Tavistock Consultation Service in London, England. She has published in peer-reviewed journals, and is a contributing author to the book, Working Beneath the Surface, The Emotional Life of Contemporary Organizations. She speaks frequently at conferences on such topics as talent retention of ace players, coaching technical experts, and on the possibilities and pitfalls of entrepreneurial partnerships. Additionally, she has designed and delivered leadership development programs in Europe and Asia and served as an adjunct faculty member at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. Previously, Dr. Horowitz was a research fellow in the Department of Neurology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and did her doctorial fellowship at Payne Whitney, New York Presbyterian Hospital.
