A workshop for professionals to examine a model of working with trauma that enables resiliency in both themselves and their clients. Explore:

  • How clients can be enabled to move from trauma to transformation
  • Ways to organize work to promote effectiveness in the midst of trauma

Leaders

Storm Swain is an Episcopal priest, psychoanalyst, and disaster response chaplain. She has worked with the traumatized for more than a decade in church, clinic, forensic, hospital, and private settings. Canon Pastor of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City for the last five years, her current research is on the spiritual resources and responses of the chaplains that worked at the Temporary Morgue at Ground Zero.

Frances Unsell, a Presbyterian minister, works as a psychoanalyst, leadership coach, and organizational consultant. She consults with leaders and their organizations to pay special attention to covert and irrational processes in times of change. Ms. Unsell is a member of The International Society for the Psychoanalytic Study of Organizations (ISPSO) and an Instructor in Coaching and Pastoral Leadership at Auburn Seminary. She is founder of The Development Center in Darien, Connecticut.
